Ramos Collects Skyline Rookie of the Week Honors

New York, NY| The Skyline Conference released its weekly awards Monday afternoon, and amongst the winners were four St. Joseph's College (L.I.) Golden Eagles, including freshman Lindsay Ramos, who was selected as women's lacrosse Rookie of the Week. In addition, Mallory McClafferty (softball), Brandon Lubrano (baseball) and Joseph Calabrese appeared on Weekly Honor Rolls.

Lindsay Ramos (Fr.) - Women's Lacrosse Rookie of the Week

In two games last week, keeper Lindsay Ramos made a total of 16 saves and boasted a .556 save percentage as the Golden Eagles posted a 2-0 record defeating Western Connecticut 10-9 on Tuesday and Sage 18-4 on Saturday. Against Western Connecticut, Ramos posted her second-highest saves total of the season (12) and matched a season-best with six ground balls. The Farmingdale, NY native has started in all 11 games for the Golden Eagles this season and has posted a 7-4 record and a .488 save percentage.

Mallory McClafferty (Sr.) - Softball Weekly Honor Roll

Despite the SJC softball team posting a 3-5 record last week, Mallory McClafferty exploded for 12 hits, eight doubles and 14 RBI's through eight games. The Bellport, NY native boasted a .521 batting average which brings her to .494 on the year, which is good for fifth in the conference. With her 3-for-3 outing (three doubles) in the second game of a doubleheader against Yeshiva on Sunday—which yielded a career-best seven RBI's—McClafferty is now first in the conference in runs batted in (38), second in slugging percentage (.861) and fifth in total hits (39).

Brandon Lubrano (Sr.) - Baseball Weekly Honor Roll

Brandon Lubrano helped guide the baseball team to a 4-2 week with a 5-1 victory over Farmingdale and a 3-2 win over Mount St. Mary.  Lubrano tossed a complete game took a no-hit bid into the bottom of the sixth against the Rams on Wednesday night allowing just one run on one hit and striking out six batters. The Mineola, NY started again on Sunday to throw against his former school and tossed five and two-thirds, striking out a season-high of nine batters and allowing two runs on four hits. Lubrano currently leads the conference in opposing batter's average (.193) and hits allowed (21). He is also top five in the conference in runs allowed (16) and earned runs allowed (10).

Joseph Calabrese (Sr.) - Baseball Weekly Honor Roll

Joseph Calabrese batted .375 over the course of six games last week recording six hits including a double and a homerun. Additionally, Calabrese drove in seven of SJC's runs last week and scored two runs. The Westbury, NY native went 2-for-3, driving in three of the Golden Eagles' five run in the 5-1 win over Farmingdale State last Wednesday and had a repeat performance in the 7-2 loss to St. Joseph's (Brkln) going 2-for-3 and driving home two of SJC's only two runs of the contest. The senior third baseman is third on the team in RBI's (12) and is tied for first on the team with two home runs.
