Calabrese, Keating, Girardi Earn Skyline All-Conference Honors

New York, NY| Seniors Joseph Calabrese, Bob Keating and Nick Girardi earned Second-Team accolades as the St. Joseph's College (L.I.) baseball team collected a trio of end-of-season Skyline Conference awards, which were announced by the conference on Monday afternoon.

For Calabrese, it's his second All-Conference selection, having appeared on the First Team last season. This year he was named to the Weekly Honor Roll (4/18) after .375 over the course of six games, recording six hits including a double and a homerun.  The senior third baseman is batting .252 on the year and leads the team in homeruns (3) and RBI's (23) and is currently third in doubles (5) and fourth in hits (26). The Westbury, NY native went three-for-four in the 5-3 loss against #5 Ramapo scoring one run and driving in three runs in the contest.

Keating is a first-time All-Skyline Team member appearing in 23 games for the Golden Eagles. The senior DH has amassed 18 hits along with four doubles, one homerun, and 13 RBI's for an average of .290. The Rockville, NY native, carried the team to Tuesday's Skyline Conference Championship game, after his 3-for-5 performance in the 12-1 rout over St. Joseph's College  (Brkln) on Sunday, where he drove in two runs and scored an additional two in the contest.

In his second season with the Golden Eagles, Girardi established himself as a powerful offense player after earning Player of the Year Honors last season. Girardi leads the team in batting average (.360), hits (41), and doubles (8). The Syosset, NY native has 19 RBI's, seven stolen bases, and 10 walks. Girardi drove in the first in Sunday's Skyline Conference playoff win with an RBI triple.
