Men's Golf Completes First Round at the NCAA Championship Tournament

Rochester, NY| The St. Joseph's College (L.I.) golf team concluded the first round of the NCAA Championship Tournament at the Midvale Country Club.

After the first round, the Golden Eagles are currently tied for 25th in the nation with a 315 (+27) performance.

Senior Robbie Bray currently leads the team with a 29th best of three over par with a score of 75.

John Melandro and Christian Bleck both concluded the first round with a 79 stroke (+7) as they are both tied at 92.

Vinny Garofalo finished with an 88 (+16) on the day.

"The Midvale CC is a spectacular golf course where a number of USGA events have been conducted. It is extremely difficult and the young men on the team played very well," said a very proud George Cangero.

The golf team will continue the second round at the Mendon Golf Country Club on Wednesday May 11.
