Vazquez, Zizzo Appear on Skyline Weekly Honor Roll

New York, NY| The Skyline Conference released its weekly awards on Monday afternoon, and amongst the winners were seniors Fernando Vazquez and Jackie Zizzo of the Joseph's College (L.I.) men's and women's basketball teams who both appeared on the Weekly Honor Roll.

Fernando Vazquez (Sr.) – Men's Basketball Weekly Honor Roll

Vazquez averaged 19.7 points-per-game through the men's basketball team's first three games of the season last week. In a 93-84 loss to SUNY Cortland on Saturday the San Juan Puerto Rico native recorded career-bests in points (35) and made field goals (13). In a defeat to Ithaca on Friday the guard tallied 16 points. Vazquez current leads the Golden Eagles in scoring and is fourth in the conference.

Jackie Zizzo (Sr.) – Women's Basketball Weekly Honor Roll

Zizzo averaged 18.0 points-per-game in the women's basketball team's first two games of the season as the Golden Eagles posted a 1-1 record. In a season-opening 70-36 victory over Medgar Evers on Tuesday the senior tied a program record with six three-pointers and tallied 20 points on 7-11 shooting from the field. In a loss to CCNY on Saturday the Bethpage, NY native went for 16 points and six rebounds. Zizzo and fellow guard Alicia Indence currently lead the team in scoring.
