2017-18 SAAC Executive Board Named

Patchogue, NY| The St. Joseph's College (L.I.) Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) recently announced its executive board members for the 2017-18 season.

Following his one-year stint as the committee's treasurer, junior baseball captain Matthew Burnett has been named President, as voted on by the members of SAAC. Burnett contributed to numerous of projects within SAAC including the inaugural Blue and Gold Night. Earlier this month the outfielder was named to the Skyline Conference Second-Team and was the recipient of the Sister Virginia Therese Callahan Memorial Award, which recognizes the athlete with the highest cumulative GPA.

Junior captain Katelyn Jones of the women's soccer team will take the helm of Vice President. Jones, a Skyline Second-Team selection and Skyline Academic Honor Roll selection, has led her soccer team in several community events including the team's annual Kicks for Cancer.

Daniel Antonawich of the SJC's indoor and outdoor track & field team will take over as the committee's Treasurer, while teammate Jennifer Holownia will serve as secretary.

The Student-Athlete Advisory Committee is composed of various student-athletes who provide insight in regard to the student-athlete experience at St. Joseph's College. The primary purpose is allowing student-athletes a voice to protect their interests and welfare with the NCAA.
