Skyline Conference Releases 2017 Fall Coaches’ Preseason Polls

New York, NY| All seven St. Joseph's College (L.I.) fall athletics teams  finished in the top four of their respective Skyline Conference Fall 2017 Preseason Coaches Polls, which were released on Tuesday afternoon. Faring best were men's cross country, women's cross country and men's golf, who were all predicted to finish second.

The men's cross country team received three first-place votes and seeks a Skyline title in 2017 after finishing runner-up at last year's championship. The women's team—which also garnered three first-place votes—took third last year and returns Skyline individual champion Erin MacDonell.

The 2015 Skyline champion men's golf team also checked in at second place trailing only Farmingdale State, who won the title last season.

Women's tennis was selected to finish third despite finishing runner-up in 2016, and women's volleyball, which suffered semi-final defeat last season, also took third.

Men's soccer (one first-place vote) and women's soccer—teams that were both eliminated in the first round of their respective championship tournaments in 2016—slotted in at number four in their polls.
