Panicola Named Skyline Player of the Week, Ruiz Lands on Weekly Honor Roll

New York, NY| The Skyline Conference released its weekly awards on Monday afternoon and amongst the winners was senior Victoria Panicola, who was named Women's Tennis Player of the Week.

Additionally, junior Rayneri Ruiz of the men's soccer team appeared on the Weekly Honor Roll.

Victoria Panicola (Sr.) – Women's Tennis Player of the Week

In a convincing 8-1 victory over Yeshiva University on Sunday afternoon, Panicola picked up an 8-1 win at first doubles with partner Amanda Post. Panicola would go on to record a 6-0, 6-2 win at second singles to improve her season singles record to 2-1. A two-time Weekly Honor Roll selection, Panicola takes home Player of the Week honors for the first time in her career.

Rayneri Ruiz (Jr.) – Men's Soccer Weekly Honor Roll

Ruiz tallied three goals in two matches last week as the Golden Eagles went 1-1. In a 3-2 win at Marywood on Thursday, the forward scored twice, including the game-winner, for the second-straight contest. In a 3-2 loss to Yeshiva at home on Sunday, the Bay Shore, NY native scored the game's opening goal. Ruiz currently leads SJC with six goals in five games this season.
