Basile, Biggers and Signor Collect Skyline Weekly Honors

New York, NY| The Skyline Conference released its weekly awards on Monday afternoon and amongst the winners were juniors Frank Basile (men's basketball) and Kyle Biggers (men's volleyball) of St. Joseph's College (L.I.), who were named Players of the Week in their respective sports.

Additionally, freshman Alyssa Signor took home Women's Basketball Rookie of the Week honors for the third time this season.

Frank Basile (Jr.) – Men's Basketball Player of the Week

A four-time Skyline Weekly Honor Roll honoree, Basile takes home Player of the Week accolades for the first time in his career. The guard averaged 21.0 points- and 8.0 rebounds-per-game in a 1-1 week for the Golden Eagles which was highlighted by a 24-point, nine-rebounds performance in an 82-67 win at SUNY Maritime on January 22. The Islip, NY native capped off the week with a game-high 18 points in a home loss to Yeshiva on January 27.

Kyle Biggers (Jr.) – Men's Volleyball Player of the Week

The reigning Skyline Conference Player of the Year collected his fifth Skyline Player of the Week honor. Through two games, the middle hitter hit 65.2% and was credited with a team-best 16 kills. Biggers put down eight kills apiece in a pair of sweeps of Nichols and Emerson on January 26 and hit a season-high 72.7% in the match vs. Emerson. The Holbrook, NY native's 57.9 hitting percentage on the year ranks among the nation's leaders in the category.

Alyssa Signor (Fr.) – Women's Basketball Rookie of the Week

Signor powered the women's basketball team to its first victory in 10 games with game-high totals in points (22) and steals (4) in a 62-61 win over Yeshiva on January 27. The freshman takes Skyline Rookie of the Week honors for the third time this season and was named to the Metropolitan Basketball Writers Association Weekly Honorable Mention on December 4. She currently leads the Golden Eagles and ranks sixth in the conference in scoring (16.4 PPG).
