Handful of Golden Eagles Collect Skyline Weekly Awards

New York, NY| The Skyline Conference released its weekly awards on Monday afternoon and amongst the winners were seniors Juliana Cintron-Leonardo (women's soccer), sophomore Amanda Goldstein (women's volleyball), and junior Meagan Haviland (women's cross country) who took home Player or Runner of the Week honors in their respective sports.

Additionally, freshman Ryan Wilson of the men's cross country team was named Rookie of the Week and senior Christina Gagliardi appeared on the Women's Soccer Weekly Honor Roll.

Juliana Cintron-Leonardo (Sr.) – Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week
Cintron-Leonardo totaled 10 saves in a 1-0-1 week for the Golden Eagles. The keeper recorded three saves in her first shutout of the season, a 4-0 win over Brooklyn College on September 3, and capped off the week with a seven-save performance in a 1-1 draw with Penn. College on September 7. A Weekly Honor Roll selection last week, Cintron-Leonardo takes home Player of the Week honors for the first time in her career.

Amanda Goldstein (So.) – Women's Volleyball Player of the Week
The sophomore led the Golden Eagles with 20 kills in two matches as the women's volleyball team posted a 1-1 record. Goldstein hit at a .500 clip and led all players with 15 kills and a .636 hitting percentage in a 3-0 sweep of Penn. St-Abington on September 7. Goldstein is Player of the Week for the first time in her career and appeared on the Weekly Honor Roll last week.

Meagan Haviland (Jr.) – Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week
Conference Runner of the Week for the second time in her career, Haviland was the highest-placing Division III runner at the Adelphi Invitational at Bethpage State Park on September 7. The junior's 12th-place 5k finish (20:35.4) powered the Golden Eagles to a fifth-place finish in a field of 13 teams.

Ryan Wilson (Fr.) – Men's Cross Country Rookie of the Week
At Saturday's Adelphi Invitational Wilson posted a 13th-place finish with an 8k time of 27:37.3. Wilson was the second-highest placing Division III runner and was bested only by defending Skyline Conference champion Joshua Green of Farmingdale State. SJC finished third in a field of 12 and placed ahead of Skyline foes Farmingdale, Maritime, and Sarah Lawrence.

Christina Gagliardi (Sr.) – Women's Soccer Weekly Honor Roll
The senior totaled four points on two goals in a 1-0-1 week for the Golden Eagles. Gagliardi recorded both goals in a 4-0 non-conference win over Brooklyn College on September 3 and appears on the Weekly Honor Roll for the second week in a row and the 11th time in her career.
