Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week
Brian Wersan – St. Joseph's-L.I.
Senior, Holbrook, NY/Sachem North HS
Competing at the CSI Development Meet on Sept. 29, Wersan placed
second in a field of 187 runners with a time of
28:07.32…earns his fifth Skyline Runner of the Week award of
the season…St. Joseph's-L.I. placed first in the 23-team
field.
Men's Cross Country Rookie of the Week
Patrick Goldberg – Mount Saint Vincent
Freshman, Rockaway Beach, NY/Archbishop Molloy HS
Goldberg finished seventh overall on s Sept. 29 at the CSI
Development Meet with a time of 29:46.64…field consisted of
187 runners…was the top Mount Saint Vincent runner for the
second time in three races in 2013.
Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week
Brittany Guttieri – St. Joseph's-L.I.
Sophomore, Staten Island, NY/Nootre Dame Academy
Guttieri captured the individual title on Sept. 29 at the CSI
Development Meet with a winning time of 23:06.50 on the 6K
course…field consisted of 155 runners…tabbed the
Skyline Runner of the Week for the fourth time this
season…St. Joseph's-L.I. placed first out of 17 teams.
Women's Cross Country Rookie of the Week
Daisy Pogyo – Mount Saint Vincent
Freshman, Elmsford, NY/Alexander Hamilton HS
Competing at the CSI Development Meet on Sept. 29, Pogyo placed
33rd overall in a field of 155 competitors with a time of
27:11.59…was the top CMSV runner for the third time in as
many meets this season.
