New York, N.Y. - The Skyline Conference announced its fall winners for the Skyline’s weekly report for November 3 and Included in the list were five Golden Eagles who received Player of the Week, Rookie of the Week or Honor Roll mentions.

The following student-athletes were named in the report:

St. Joseph’s College’s junior middle hitter, Heather Ferchland (Selden, N.Y. / Centereach), was awarded Player of the Week for the second consecutive week after averaging 3.33 kills with a .667 attack percentage over the past week. Her performance helped boost the Lady Eagle’s to three straight 3-0 victories over Purchase, Sarah Lawrence, and Yeshiva in this week’s Skyline games. This is Ferchland’s fourth time honored as Player of the Week this season.

SJC’s senior swimmer, Jenna Birkmire (Shoreham, N.Y. / Shoreman-Wading River) garnered the Lady Eagle’s first Swimmer of the Week award of the season after placing first in both the 100-yard backstroke (1:05.72) and the 200-yard individual medley (2:24.69). Birkmire’s times lifted the Golden Eagles to 2-0, defeating both Mount Saint Vincent and Old Westbury.

Women’s soccer’s Kristin Carroll (Patchogue, N.Y. / Patchogue-Medford), a freshman forward, was recognized as the Rookie of the Week after accumulating two assists and a goal in wins over playoff opponent-Mount Saint Vincent and St. Joseph’s-Brooklyn. Carroll’s two assists were tallied in the Mount Saint Vincent victory, which advanced the Golden Eagles to the Skyline semifinals.

The Golden Eagle’s men’s and women’s soccer team both had Skyline Honor Roll mentions. The men’s soccer team representative was junior midfielder Alex Guadagno (South Setuaket, N.Y. / Ward Melville) after he scored the game-winning goal against Mount Saint Vincent in the first round of the Skyline Championship Tournament. The Lady Eagle’s freshman midfielder Claire Brady (Center Moriches, N.Y. / Center Moriches) earned an Honor Roll mention as she recorded two goals including a game-winner over SJC-Brooklyn and one vs. CMSV.
