Women's Lacrosse Player of the Week
Heather Ferchland – St. Joseph's-L.I.
Sophomore, Attack, Selden, NY/Centereach HS
Ferchland compiled 13 goals, eight draw controls, five ground balls, four caused turnovers and one assist in a 2-1 week for the Golden Eagles…tallied four goals, one assist and two draw controls on Mar. 19 as SJC earned an 18-11 win over Western Connecticut State…scored four goals and added three ground balls in a 15-10 loss to Oswego State on Mar. 17…notched five goals and added six draw controls on Mar. 22 in the Golden Eagles' 19-4 win over Sage. 

Women's Lacrosse Rookie of the Week
Katie Gattoni – Mount Saint Mary
Freshman, Attack, Old Tappan, NJ/Northern Valley Regional HS
Gattoni scored six goals on 12 shots and added four ground balls, two caused turnovers, one assist and a draw control in a 2-1 week for Mount Saint Mary…tallied three goals in the opening half on Mar. 20 in the Knights' 20-4 win over Manhattanville…had a goal and an assist with a team-high three shots in a 19-7 loss to Vassar on Mar. 18…scored a pair of goals and added two ground balls on Mar. 22 as MSMC notched an 18-5 victory over Old Westbury.

Men's Tennis Player of the Week
Massimo Boni – NYU-Poly
Sophomore, Wayne, PA/Radnor HS
Boni earned a 6-3, 6-0 victory at the No. 2 singles flight on Mar. 22 as NYU-Poly opened its 2014 campaign with a 5-4 win at Purchase…also notched a 9-8 (7-4) victory at No. 1 doubles. 

Men's Tennis Rookie of the Week
Kevin Karpowich – St. Joseph's-L.I.
Junior, West Babylon, NY/West Babylon HS
Karpowich registered wins at fifth singles and No. 3 doubles on Mar. 20 as St. Joseph's-L.I. edged USMMA, 5-4…posted a 6-4, 6-4 victory in singles play and an 8-5 decision in doubles action. 

Softball Player of the Week
Michelle Surdan – Mount Saint Mary
Freshman, 1B/DP, Acton, MA/Acton Boxborough Regional HS
Surdan went 7-for-14 with eight RBI and five runs scored as Mount Saint May opened league play with four wins over Farmingdale State (Mar. 22) and NYU-Poly (Mar. 23)…cracked two doubles and a home run and added a pair of walks on the week…went 2-for-2 with four RBI on Mar. 23 in the Knights' 10-8 win over NYU-Poly…hit safely in all four games and notched three multi-hit performances. 

Softball Pitcher of the Week
Cassie Martinez – St. Joseph's-L.I.
Senior, RHP, Centereach, NY/Centereach HS
Martinez tossed three complete game victories and added a save while allowing four earned runs in 19 innings pitched (1.47 earned run average)…fanned 23 and allowed 17 hits in 19 innings pitched while issuing just one walk…allowed two earned runs and struck out nine on Mar. 22 in the Golden Eagles' 7-4 victory over Sage…hurled a one-hit shutout on Mar. 23 in an 11-0 (5) win versus Old Westbury. 

Softball Rookies of the Week
Brittany Lee – Mount Saint Vincent
Freshman, INF, Newton, NY/North Warren Regional HS
Lee collected seven hits in 10 at-bats with five runs scored, five RBI and a pair of walks over four Skyline contests versus NYU-Poly (Mar. 22) and Farmingdale State (Mar. 23)…hit safely in all four games and recorded three multi-hit performances…recorded three extra-base hits and compiled a 1.300 slugging percentage. 

Lori Michalowski – Farmingdale State
Freshman, 1B, Lindenhurst, NY/Lindenhurst HS
Michalowski batted .750 (12-for-16) with six RBI as Farmingdale State won four-of-six games on the week…went 4-for-5 with a home run on Mar. 21 as the Rams earned 7-4 and 6-5 victories over Brooklyn…collected eight hits in 11 at-bats with a homer and four RBI in four games versus Mount Saint Mary and CMSV…scored four runs on the week.

Baseball Player of the Week
Michael Marino – Farmingdale State
Junior, OF, Franklin Square, NY/Carey HS
Marino collected seven hits in 14 at-bats with five RBI and four runs scored in a 3-0 week for the Rams…went 5-for-9 with four RBI, three runs scored and an inside-the-park home run on Mar. 22 as FSC earned 14-5 and 4-3 victories over Maritime…scored a pair of runs in the Rams' 7-6 win versus Nichols on Mar. 17.

Baseball Pitcher of the Week
Kevin Cashman – Farmingdale State
Sophomore, RHP, Hicksville, NY/Hicksville HS
Cashman tossed 7.2 innings of scoreless relief to earn a pair of victories while lowering his earned run average to 0.68 on the year…entered a 6-6 game on Mar. 17 versus Nichols and allowed two hits over 4.2 innings as FSC notched a 7-6 win…scattered one hit over three innings against Maritime on Mar. 22…struck out five and did not walk a batter in the two appearances.  

Baseball Rookie of the Week
Michael Piekarczyk - Purchase
Freshman, 1B, Dudley, MA/Holy Name HS
Piekarczyk went 8-for-16 with six RBI, five runs scored and a pair of steals on the week...collected four hits and knocked in three on Mar. 22 in a 10-8 loss to Old Westbury…drew a pinch-hit walk and scored a run on Mar. 18 in the Panthers' 12-5 win at Manhattanville…has eight RBI and eight runs scored thru eight games this season.
