Three Baseball Players Named to N.Y. All-Region Team

New York, N.Y. - Three student-athletes from the St. Joseph's College baseball program have been named to the 2012 New York ABCA/Rawlings All-Region Team.

Earning second team distinction is senior Rich Pecoraro (Hampton Bays, N.Y./Hampton Bays), who batted .421 and set a school record with 42 RBI this season.  He made the ABCA squad at the utility position as he split time between first base and designated hitter.

Senior second baseman Dennis Nover (Fresh Meadows, N.Y./St. Francis Prep) was named to the third team.  The speedster set new SJC records for runs (44) and stolen bases (40) in a season and hit .340.

Senior pitcher Jason Dierkes (Mt. Sinai, N.Y./Mt. Sinai) was among nine student-athletes to earn 2012 ABCA/Rawlings Gold Glove Awards.
