Beekman Earns Share of First Skyline Pitcher of the Week Award

Baseball Co-Pitchers of the Week
Jonathan Beekman – St. Joseph's-L.I.
Junior, RHP, Ridge, NY/Longwood HS
In his first start of the season on Mar. 1, Beekman allowed just one run on five hits in seven innings as St. Joseph's-L.I. rallied for a 2-1 victory over Keene State…struck out three and walked two while facing just four batters over the minimum.

Alex DiSanto – Old Westbury
Junior, RHP, New Hyde Park, NY/Herricks HS
DiSanto tossed two innings of scoreless relief and earned a pair of saves in two appearances…fanned one on Feb. 24 in Old Westbury's 5-2 win at Frostburg State on Feb. 24…closed out the Panthers' 3-2 victory over Baruch on Mar. 2…did not allow a hit in two appearances.

Baseball Player of the Week
Albert Doerbecker - Maritime
Sophomore, C/1B, Point Lookout, NY/Long Beach HS
Doerbecker collected eight hits in 16 at-bats over five games with four RBI and a pair of runs scored…added a pair of stolen bases…went 2-for-3 with a triple and two RBI on Mar. 2 in the Privateers' 11-4 victory over D'Youville…had a trio of multi-hit performances over five contests.

Baseball Rookie of the Week
Dalton McCarthy – Farmingdale State
Freshman, 1B, Manorville, NY/Eastport South Manor HS
McCarthy hit .370 (10-for-27) over eight contests with six RBI and four runs scored…had four extra-base hits, including a pair of triples…walked four times and stole two bases…registered three-hit performances against both Gwynedd-Mercy (Feb. 23) and SUNY Canton (Feb. 25).
