Patchogue, NY| The St. Joseph's College (L.I.) baseball team held its first annual Gregg Alfano Alumni Game at Gregg Alfano Field on Saturday, October 15.

Prior to the game, head coach Rick Garrett held a ring ceremony for the 2015 Skyline Conference Champions.

SJC won the Skyline Tournament for the first time under head coach Rick Garrett and for the third time in program history on May 10 with a 9-8 win over Farmingdale State College. St. Joseph's historic year comes after a 25-13 (11-5 Skyline) year finishing fourth in the conference.

"This was our first alumni game with Coach Garrett and I think it went extremely well, we had an amazing turnout. It was nice seeing all the alumni gathered together playing baseball again," said senior Luke Brown. "It was also nice to see how our team this year's team interacted with the alumni."  "It was a great time for all the players, and it was great to have the alumni there to see us get our Skyline Conference championship rings with all alumni there."

The game featured previous players and alumni including ABCA/Rawling Gold Glove winner Jason Dierkes ('12), Rich Pecoraro ('12), Chris Alfano ('93), Pete Manger ('93) and assistant coaches Dan DiBlasi ('16) and Joe Benkert ('11).

The St. Joseph's College baseball team will begin its 2016 campaign against Plattsburgh St. on February 25 at home.
