Baseball Beats Baruch, 6-1

Brooklyn, NY| The St. Joseph's College baseball team earned a 6-1 non-conference win over Baruch College Tuesday afternoon at MCU Stadium.

The Golden Eagles improve to 19-14 on the season and the Bearcats now sit at 9-18-1.

The Golden Eagles trailed the Bearcats 1-0 through the first three innings before Ryan Lennon doubled down the left field line driving in Anthony Raucci and Daniel Campanelli in the fourth for a 2-1 lead.

Tyler Sanderson knocked in Paul Britt in the top of the fifth and a wild pitch allowed Louis Fontinha to score in the sixth extending the lead to 4-1.

After a scoreless seventh and eighth the Golden Eagles tacked on a couple of insurance runs to cruise to a 6-1 win.

Britt and Campanelli both finished with two hits apiece combining for three RBI's.

Nick Mannarino earned the win allowing one run on four hits in seven innings of work. Justin Fitzpatrick picked up the save providing two innings of scoreless relief.

The Golden Eagles return to Gregg Alfano Stadium on Thursday, April 26 when they host CCNY. Game time is set for 7:00 pm.
