Equestrian Finishes in Sixth in Spring Opener

Huntington, NY| After the winter break, the Golden Eagles equestrian team was eager  to compete in the first show of the spring season which was held at the Lloyd Harbor Equestrian Center in Huntington and hosted by New York University.

After a rocky start with Sr. Melissa Mausser falling during her fences course, the rest of the team continued to prevail and ride their best. Fr. Amber Goodman came in first place in Advanced Walk Trot Canter, exceeding the 36 required points to qualify for Regionals, which means she will ride in Regionals in March.

At the end of the day, LIU Post finished first with 37 points for the and Stony Brook behind them with 32 points. Although it was not the best turn out in team points for the Golden Eagles, with a total of 20 points for the day, they still remained in first place for the year with 218 points, with Stony Brook trailing behind with 206 points.
