Farmingdale Runs Through Eagles In Skyline Action

Farmingdale, N.Y. – The St. Joseph's College Golden Eagles (6-16, 4-11 Skyline) lost the season series to the Rams of Farmingdale State (17-5, 13-2 Skyline). The Eagles sit a game out of the final playoff spot with three games left. The 106-63 win extended Farmingdale's winning streak to five games.

St. Joseph's came out firing in the first minute hitting two quick three-pointers by sophomore forward Jordan Kowalski (North Babylon, N.Y. / Abilene (Texas)) and sophomore guard Evan Mohammed (Bayside, N.Y. / Holy Cross). At 13:08 a Ryan Davis layup made the lead 21-12 in the Ram's favor. The Eagles, sparked by a Kowalski jumper went on a 13-2 run over the next two minutes to take a 25-23 lead. Over the final ten minutes of the half, the Eagles' shooting went cold. Farmingdale outscored St. Joseph's 23-5 over that time span to go into the locker room up 46-30.

The hot scoring of the Rams continued from the start of the second half. Farmingdale went on a 14-3 run over the first 5:30 to extend the lead to 17 and all but seal the win. The Rams largest lead of the game was 43 and out-rebounded the Golden Eagles 50-30.

Evan Mohammed was the only Eagle in double-digit scoring with 21 points on 7-of-15 shooting. Jordan Kowalski added nine points and three blocks.

Next up for SJC is a game with playoff implications on the line as St. Joseph's faces the Gators of Sage (11-11, 6-9 Skyline) on Sunday at 5:00 p.m.  Sage currently sits in fifth place in the Skyline standings.
