Panthers End Eagles Season

Purchase, N.Y. – The St. Joseph's College men's basketball team (6-19, Skyline 4-14) closed out its season with a 63-36 loss to the Purchase Panthers (20-5, Skyline 14-4). It is the Eagles first losing season since 2004-05, when they went 10-15.

St. Joseph's couldn't find the bottom of the basket to start the game and were held scoreless for the first six minutes. Jordan Kowalski's (North Babylon, N.Y. / Abilene) three-pointer broke the drought. The first half was all Purchase, as they built up a lead to as much as 19. The Panther defense shut down the Eagles offense by allowing them to hit just four shots on 19 attempts.

The second half was more of the same. The Eagles struggled to score on offense; Purchase held them to 24.2% shooting from the floor in the half. The Panther big men were too much for the St. Joseph defense as they outrebounded the Eagles 38-27. The Panthers won the turnover battle by forcing 16 and giving up just nine.

Jordan Kowalski finished with 11 points and six rebounds. Evan Mohammed (Bayside, N.Y. / Holy Cross) scored a team high 12.
