Basile Tabbed Men's Basketball Rookie of the Week, Laurent on Honor Roll

New York, NY| The Skyline Conference released its weekly awards on Monday afternoon, and amongst the winners were freshman Frank Basile and senior Andy Laurent of the men's basketball team, who earned Rookie of the Week and Weekly Honor Roll recognition, respectively.
Frank Basile (Fr.) – Men's Basketball Rookie of the Week
In a 2-1 week for the men's basketball team Basile averaged 11.0 points- and 2.6-rebounds-per-game including a season-best 20-point performance in a 71-62 road victory over first-place Farmingdale State on Saturday afternoon. The Islip, NY native would also contribute eight points (3-5 FG) in a 71-54 defeat of St. Joseph's (Brkln) last Tuesday. As of Tuesday afternoon Basile was fourth on the team in scoring (8.6 PPG) and second in rebounding (4.4 RPG).
Andy Laurent (Sr.) – Men's Basketball Weekly Honor Roll
In three contests last week Laurent averaged 19.6 points-, 3.6 rebounds- and 3.3 assists-per-game. After a 20-point, nine-rebound performance in a victory over SJC-Brooklyn on Tuesday the Amityville, NY native went for 24 points in a 87-86 loss to Old Westbury on Thursday. Laurent wrapped the week with 15 points, nine rebounds, and seven assists in a win over Farmingdale on Saturday and finished the regular season first on the team and eighth in the conference in points/game (15.5).
