New York, NY| Junior Frank Basile of the St. Joseph's College (L.I.) men's basketball team scooped up a pair of honors this week when he was named to the Skyline Conference Weekly Honor Roll on Monday and the Metropolitan Basketball Writers Association's Divisions II-III Weekly Honorable Mention on Tuesday.

Basile averaged 25.0 points- and 9.0 rebounds-per-game through two contests as SJC posted a 1-1 record. In a 77-62 defeat to SUNY Purchase on January 3, Basile scored a team-high 17 points and grabbed five rebounds.

On January 5, Basile powered the Golden Eagles to an 80-67 victory at the College of Mount St. Vincent when he scored 33 points and grabbed 13 rebounds for his team-leading eighth double-double of the season.

Basile appeared on the Skyline Weekly Honor Roll for the third time this season and the MBWA Weekly Honorable Mention for the second time. 

As of Monday afternoon, Basile led the Golden Eagles in scoring (20.0 PPG) and rebounding (10.3 RPG) and ranked third in the Skyline Conference in both categories. 

Basile and the Golden Eagles return to action on Tuesday, January 8 when they visit St. Joseph's College (Brkln) for a Skyline Conference showdown at 7:00 pm.
