MBWA Release

New York, NY| Junior Frank Basile of the St. Joseph's College (L.I.) men's basketball team earned his second weekly honor on Tuesday morning when he was included in the Metropolitan Basketball Writers Association's Divisions II-III Weekly Honorable Mention.

After claiming Skyline Conference Player of the Week honors earlier on Tuesday, Basile took home MBWA accolades for the fifth time this season.

Basile averaged 25.7 points- and 6.7 rebounds-per-game in three games last week as the Golden Eagles posted a 0-3 record. The guard matched a career-high of 35 points (14-23 FG, 7-11 3FG) in a loss to Old Westbury on Jan. 31 and capped off the week with his 10th double-double (23 points, 11 rebounds) in a loss to Mount St. Vincent on Feb. 2.

The conference's leading scorer (21.1 PPG) tallied a team-high 19 points in a loss at USMMA on Jan. 29.

Basile and the Golden Eagles return to action on Wednesday night when they visit Farmingdale State for a Skyline Conference contest at 8:00 pm.
