Men's Golf Suffers Defeat to Farmingdale in Opening Outing

Montauk , N.Y. -  On Saturday, the men's golf team played in a dual match against defending Skyline Conference champions Farmingdale State College at Montauk Downs State Park Golf Club.

The Golden Eagles did not fare so well, although they did play with heart and determination throughout the tournament.  The team posted a two day total of 666 (344-322).

Sophomore John Melandro posted a team best two-day total (78-80) of 158, while junior Zac Campanelli posted the low score of 73 for the Golden Eagles on day two of the tournament (88-73).

Despite the disappointing loss, the Golden Eagles remain enthusiastic and optimistic, looking forward to Thursday, September 11 when they host the Skyline Conference teams at their home course - Island Hills Country Club in Sayville.

The Farmingdale Rams posted a two-day total of 613 (312-301).  Senior Matt Pollock was the overall individual medalist, posting a two-day total of 149 (77-72) with teammate Andrew Goldman placing second with a two-day total of 151 (73-78).
