Men's Golf Looks to Retain Skyline Title in 2016

Patchogue, NY| After claiming its first Skyline Conference since 2007 last season--the third in program history--the St. Joseph's College (L.I) men's golf team aims to repeat as connference champion in 2016, but looks to do so under the leadership of first-year head coach Jeff DiMarco. 

DiMarco arrives at St. Joseph's having most recently served as head coach of the Dowling College men's team for the past 19 seasons. DiMarco enters this season with high expectations and remains very optimistic.

In a preseason poll voted by the Skyline Conference coaches, the Golden Eagles were selected to finish second behind Farmingdale St.

Even though the Golden Eagles saw four players graduate after last season, including All-America Scholar Christian Bleck, the program will return seven players in 2016-17. Amongst the returners is Vinny Garofalo, who was part of the five-man team that competed in last year's Skyline Conference Championship and NCAA Golf Championships. Sophomore Dan McNamara and Patrick Standard will return after successfuls first seasons with the Golden Eagles.

The Golden Eagles kick-off their 2016-17 campaign at Moravian College at the Woodstone Country Club in Danielsville, PA on Tuesday afternoon.
