William Paterson Pioneers Down Men's Soccer 4-0

Wayne, N.J. - After St. Joseph's men's soccer team rebounded from a five-game losing streak, the Golden Eagles (4-10) lost last night to the William Paterson Pioneers (6-5-2).  The 4-0 loss marks their seventh shutout defeat of the season.

The Golden Eagles could not get it going on offense.  Of their seven shot opportunities, only three were on target, three times less than William Paterson.

All of the opposing team's damage came within the first 25 minutes as the Pioneers were able to score all four of their goals within that timeframe, but were locked down after that.  William Paterson scored their goals in the seventh, twelfth, twenty-first, and the twenty-fourth minutes.

Frustrations built from the contest, resulting in two Golden Eagle players being given a yellow card.

In a Skyline Conference match, St. Joseph's will take it to the Old Westbury Panthers tomorrow, October 9.  This key contest will be held in Old Westbury, N.Y. with the game time set for 4:00 p.m.  The men's soccer team looks to break .500 in conference matches, hoping to increase their record to 3-2 on the season.
