Patchogue, NY| Senior Justin Busto scored the match's only goal in the 18th minute as the St. Joseph's College (L.I.) men's soccer team earned a narrow 1-0 victory on the road vs. SUNY Maritime in Skyline Conference action on Saturday afternoon.

With the win the Golden Eagles improve to 2-5-0 on the year and 2-0-0 in Skyline play as the Privateers fall to 6-2-1 (0-1-0).

SJC carried the play early and generated the game's first two shots before Busto struck in the 18th minute. Sophomore Damian Duda slotted a pass into the box from the right wing for a waiting Busto, who redirected the ball past Maritime keeper Michael Rodriguez.

Despite outshooting the hosts 6-4 in the first half, the Golden Eagles carried a 1-0 lead into halftime, but were greeted by an offensive storm on the other side of the break.

Maritime would generate 17 shots to SJC's four in the second half, forcing St. Joseph's keeper Steven Deng into making seven saves in the frame. In the end, the Privateers could not find an equalizer as the Golden Eagles won their second-straight game.

Deng (2-2-0) made a season-best nine saves in a match that saw his side outshot 21 to 10 in total. Maritime's Rodriguez made six saves in the contest.
