Friel and Kadar Named to All-Skyline Second Team

New York, NY – Freshman Justin Vijungco of Farmingdale State has been named Player of the Year to highlight the 2012 Skyline All-Conference Men's Tennis Team in voting conducted by the league's seven head coaches. In addition, the Rookie of the Year is shared by Tommy Inouye of NYU-Poly and Jeremyah Schur of Purchase and the coaches selected Adam Waterhouse of Farmingdale State as Coach of the Year. The Sage Colleges earned the Team Sportsmanship Award from its peers.

Vijungco was outstanding for the Rams, as playing at #1 singles, he posted a 4-2 record in the league and at #1 doubles, he combined with fellow first team member Christian Bormann to go a perfect 5-0. The standout from Forest Hills, NY, who helped his team to a 5-1 league mark and 14-5 overall, had superb overall records of 9-2 in doubles and 8-5 in singles.

Inouye, a freshman from Danbury, CT, had a perfect 11-0 league mark in singles, mostly at #3 singles, including 6-0 in Skyline play. He was also unblemished in doubles – 11-0 at #2 overall and 6-0 in conference matches, as he helped NYU-Poly to the regular season crown with a 6-0 mark.

Schur, a freshman from Forest Hills, NY, posted a sterling 10-2 singles mark, primarily at #2, and was 8-4 in doubles, mostly at #2. He was 5-1 in league singles matches, helping Purchase to a 3-3 Skyline mark
and 11-6 overall.

Waterhouse, in his fifth season, led the Rams to a second-place regular season finish at 5-1 and 14-5 overall. This weekend, his team won the Skyline Tournament and the automatic NCAA bid. Waterhouse
earns the Skyline coaching honors for the second time and has an overall record of 36-19.

The 2012 All-Conference First Team consists of Vijungco, Bormann, Inouye, Schur, Zach Charles of Yeshiva, Brenden Keeling of Purchase, and Yan Krasny of NYU-Poly.

The Second Team is composed of Alex Bessarabov and Ryan Musalo of Farmingdale State, Adam Friel and Ken Kadar of St. Joseph's-L.I., Greg Jacob of Mount Saint Mary, and Chris Lysiuk of NYU-Poly.
