Matt Reed Earns All-Skyline Team Honors for Men's Tennis

2013 ALL-CONFERENCE TEAM

New York, NY – For the second consecutive year, sophomore Justin Vijungco of Farmingdale State has been named the Skyline Men's Tennis Player of the Year in voting conducted among the Conference's seven head coaches.

The Skyline coaches also selected Massimo Boni of NYU-Poly as the 2013 Rookie of the Year and Farmingdale State's Adam Waterhouse as Coach of the Year. In addition, the Sage Colleges received the Team Sportsmanship Award.

Vijungco enters the Rams' matchup with Mount Saint Mary on Apr. 27 in the Skyline finals boasting an 8-1 mark at No. 1 singles and a 7-4 record at first doubles. The Forest Hills, N.Y., native was a perfect 5-0 in singles action in conference play this season and has 16 career victories at the No. 1 singles position.

Boni owns a 7-4 record at the first singles flight and has paired with teammate Chris Lysiuk to post a 10-2 mark at No. 1 doubles. The Wayne, Pa., resident garnered Skyline Player of the Week honors on Mar. 18 and Rookie of the Week distinction on Apr. 22 and is also a member of the All-Conference first team.

Vijungco and Boni are joined on the All-Conference first team by Alex Bessarabov and Ryan Musalo of Farmingdale State; Chris Lysiuk of NYU-Poly; Mount Saint Mary's Greg Jacob; and Jeremyah Schur of Purchase.

The second-team All-Conference includes Mike Balokoz and Stat Willand of Mount Saint Mary; Farmingdale State's Steven Ferrantello; Conor Doherty of NYU-Poly; Brenden Keeling of Purchase; and Matt Reed of St. Joseph's-L.I.

Waterhouse has guided Farmingdale State to an 11-1 overall record and a berth in the Skyline finals as the two-time defending champion Rams face Mount Saint Mary on Apr. 27. FSC went undefeated (6-0) in conference play for the second time in three seasons. A 1984 graduate of Oswego State, Waterhouse owns a 58-25 mark in his six seasons leading the Farmingdale State men's program. He also earned Skyline Coach of the Year honors in 2009, 2011 and 2012.
