Men's Tennis Picked Sixth in Skyline Preseason Poll

Press Release from the Skyline Conference

NEW YORK, N.Y. – Three-time defending champion Farmingdale State has been selected to capture the 2014 Skyline men's tennis title in voting conducted by the league's seven head coaches.

The Rams received five first-place votes and 34 total points, while 2013 runner-up Mount Saint Mary placed second in the poll with 32 overall points and a pair of first-place votes.  FSC welcomes back senior Judd Bahoui, who compiled a 10-2 record in singles play and an 11-1 mark in doubles action a year ago.

MSMC returns a pair of All-Conference selections in senior Greg Jacob and sophomore Mike Balokoz.  A three-time All-Conference honoree, Jacob recorded nine victories at the No. 1 flight last season, while Balokoz had a team-high 12 wins in singles play en route to garnering second-team All-Conference distinction.

Purchase finished third in the voting with 21 points, just ahead of NYU-Poly (20), Yeshiva (20), St. Joseph's-L.I. (14), and Sage (6).

The semifinals of the 2014 Skyline Men's Tennis Championship will be held on Thursday, Apr. 24, with the finals scheduled for Saturday, Apr. 26.
