Eagles Tennis Falls to Farmingdale, 7-2

Patchogue, N.Y. – The Golden Eagles (4-3, 1-2 Skyline) gave the Farmingdale Rams (6-4, 4-2 Skyline) a good fight, winning two of the three doubles but dropped all six singles matches.

Tom O'Keefe (West Babylon, N.Y./St. John the Baptist) and Adam Friel (Bayport, N.Y./Bayport-Blue Point) as well as the team of Brandon Abbatiello (Shoreham, N.Y./Shoreham-Wading River) and Chris Corrao (Patchogue, N.Y./Patchogue-Medford) won their doubles matches, 8-3.

Denzil Charles (Central Islip, N.Y./Central Islip) and Stephen Fox (Miller Place, N.Y./Miller Place) narrowly lost 8-6. Despite losing all six singles matches, three of the Eagles took their match to three sets. Friel lost his first set 7-6 on a tiebreaker, then won his second set 7-5. He clawed his way through the third set to force a tiebreaker which he lost 8-6. Corrao lost the first set 6-3 but won the second set 7-5. He also put up a fight in the third set, losing 6-4. Fox lost the first game 6-3, won the second 6-2 but lost the third set 6-3. Abbatiello and O'Keefe lost in two sets.

The Eagles take on the Sage Gators on the road this Saturday.
