Patchogue, NY| The St. Joseph's College (L.I.) men's tennis team suffered an 8-1 defeat at the hands of Skyline Conference rival Yeshiva University at home on Sunday afternoon in what was the team's final competition of 2017 season.

With the loss the Golden Eagles wrap their year with a 3-7 mark (2-6 Skyline) as the Maccabees improve to 13-1 (8-0 Skyline).

Yeshiva swept the doubles matches with an 8-0 win at first doubles, an 8-4 win at second doubles and an 8-5 win at third.

Tyler Yaskanich was awarded a victory at third singles by default, but SJC went on to drop the five other singles matches. Cody Puglisi (#6 singles) fared best in a 6-4, 2-6, 3-10 tie-break defeat.

The Golden Eagles failed to qualify for the Skyline Championship which is set to begin on Tuesday. Yeshiva's undefeated conference mark earned them the first overall seed.
