Patchogue, NY| A few months after capturing the first Skyline Conference women's tennis title of his 15-year career, head coach Glenn Nathan prepares for another season at the helm of the St. Joseph's College (L.I.) men's program.

Last season, the team posted a 2-8 overall record and missed the conference playoffs with a 2-5 mark in Skyline action. In 2019, the team seeks to win its first Skyline title since 2010.

The Returners: Nathan welcomes back four players from last year's squad, including team MVP Damian Duda. In 2019, the junior went 3-7 in singles play and 2-7 in doubles action.

Sophomore Ryan Freeley was 3-6 in singles play a year ago and has been selected by Nathan to serve as team captain. Nathan will also look to senior Kyle Conway and sophomore Dylan Trude for additional experience.

The Newcomers: Four recruits join the SJC ranks ahead of the 2019 season including three freshmen: Nick Bongiorno, Vinny Spano and William Vita. The trio will be leaned on to fill out the rest of the lineup as well as sophomore Kenneth Pettersen, who arrives at St. Joseph's from West Islip High School.

Expectations: Nathan and the team believe qualifying for the Skyline Conference playoffs is a realistic goal, but, hungry for his second title inside the space of one academic year, Nathan feels his team can challenge for a championship.

The results of the Skyline Conference Men's Tennis Preseason Coaches Poll, released on February 15, saw the Golden Eagles selected to finish sixth.
