Individual Efforts Headline Track & Field Meet at Molloy Invitational

S. Huntington, NY- The St. Joseph's College men's and women's indoor track & field teams competed at the Molloy Invitational this past Friday and put up some impressive individual performances.

WOMEN
Freshman Samantha Baculy (Farmingville, N.Y./Connetquot) bettered her school record in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 11.50.

Freshman Brittany Guttieri (Oakdale, N.Y./Connetquot) finished second overall in the mile breaking her previous school record with a time of 5:29.38.

Senior Christine Cristobal (Dix Hills, N.Y./Half Hallow Hills West) took third in the 800m with a time of 2:24.38.

Senior Maureen Quinn (Rocky Point, N.Y./Rocky Point) and junior Caitlyn Ryan (Farmingville, N.Y./Sachem East) clocked the Golden Eagles all-time No. 2 and No. 4 times with marks of 2:31.36 and 2:33.78, respectively.

MEN
Senior Michael Lombardi (Ronkonkoma, N.Y./Connetquot) took third overall in the 3000m with a time of 9:17.22 and later bettered his collegiate indoor 800m crossing the line at 2:06.57.

Junior Brian Wersan (Holbrook, N.Y./Sachem North) ran his first mile taking sixth with a time of 4:39.73.

Freshman Mario Mayen (Center Moriches, N.Y./Center Moriches) took seventh in the 400m with a Golden Eagle all-time No. 2 time of 52.00.

The Golden Eagles will return to action next Friday, February 22 to compete in the NJAC Championships in New York City. Competition is slated to being at 11:00 a.m.
