Track & Field's Mario Mayen Named ECAC DIII Metro Athlete of the Week

Danbury, Conn. – The ECAC announced their Track and Field Athletes of the Week for the period ending December 14, 2014 and St. Joseph's Marion Mayen is their Division III Metro winner.

Mayen, a junior from Center Moriches, N.Y. posted a top NJAC time during St. John's University's Fifth Annual Bill Ward Invitational this week.  He produced a runner-up performance in a field of 19 competitors in the 800 meters with a time of 2:03.13.  He also placed 10th in the 4x400 with a time of 3:42.90.  Mayen's performance in the 800 meters currently ranks as the best NJAC time in the event this season and ranks 26th in all of NCAA Division III.
