Mayen earns NJAC Men's Outdoor Rookie of the Week honors after competing in St. Joseph's College's own Golden Eagle Invitational. He placed first in a field of 15 competitors in the 400 meters with both a school-record and meet-record time of 51.32. He also placed first in a field of 15 runners in the 400 meter hurdles with both a school-record and meet-record time of 56.46. He also  ompeted as a member of the Golden Eagles' 4x100 meter relay which placed fifth with a time of 46.88. The performances by Mayen in the 400 meter hurdles and the 400 meters currently rank second and fifth respectively in the NJAC this season.
