Mario Mayen Named NJAC Rookie of the Week for Second Time

PITMAN, N.J. —The New Jersey Athletic Conference announced its Week 7 NJAC Men's Outdoor Track & Field Athlete of the Week selections on April 29.

Mayen earns NJAC Men's Outdoor Rookie of the Week honors for the second time this season after traveling to Ewing to compete at TCNJ's Lions' Invitational. He placed third in a field of 57 competitors in the 400 meters with an ECAC qualifying and school-record time of 49.32. He also placed sixth in a field of 57 runners in the 400 meter hurdles with an ECAC qualifying and school-record time of 56.44. Mayen's performances in the 400 meters and the 400 meter hurdles currently rank as the fourth and sixth best NJAC times in those events respectively this season.
