Wersan, Mayen, Sanders & Afanador Earn 2014 All-NJAC Outdoor Track Honors

Press Release from the NJAC

PITMAN, N.J. —Rowan University sophomore Glenn Kohles has been selected as the New Jersey Athletic Conference Men's Outdoor Track & Field Thomas M. Gerrity Most Outstanding Athlete for the 2014 season. His selection highlighted the 60-member NJAC men's outdoor track & field all-conference team which was announced on May 14. All NJAC special awards were determined by a vote of the league's nine head coaches. The league's all-conference honors were based on performances at the 2014 NJAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships which were conducted at The College of New Jersey on May 3-4.

The selection of Kohles marks the second consecutive season that a Rowan student-athlete has garnered the Men's Gerrity Award. Kohles claimed the conference crown in the discus by placing first in a field of 19 competitors with an ECAC qualifying and personal-best throw of 48.73 meters. He also garnered the league title in the shot put by placing first in a field of 15 throwers with a personal-best and an ECAC qualifying toss of 15.73 meters.

Lisa claimed the NJAC crown in the high jump by placing first in a field of six competitors with an ECAC qualifying leap of 1.93 meters. He also notched a third place finish in the conference long jump competition with a leap of 6.68 meters.

Ramapo College freshman Kevin Diana was selected as the NJAC Men's Outdoor Rookie of the Year.
