Track's 4x400m Relay Team & Mario Mayen Run at ECAC Championships
Springfield, Mass. – The men's outdoor track and field team took to the prestigious ECAC Championships on Thursday. St. Joseph's 4x400m relay team comprised of Brian Frejka (Medford, N.Y./ Patchogue-Medford), Mike O'Shea (Ronkonoma, N.Y./ Connetquot), Mario Mayen (Center Moriches, N.Y./ Center Moriches), and Kevin Sanders (Wading River, N.Y./ Shoreham-Wading River) finished in a respectable 3:26.98, which was their second best time of the season. They ranked 19th out of 20 teams.
Junior Mario Mayen ran in the 400m Friday afternoon and finished 22nd of 30 runners with a time of 50.13. He entered the race ranked 10th in the ECAC and 40th nationally.
