Men's Volleyball Earns the Season Sweep Over Medgar Evers on Thursday Night

Brooklyn, NY| For the second time this season, the St. Joseph's College (L.I.) men's volleyball team swept the Medgar Evers Cougars in a non-conference matchup inside the Cougar Cove on Thursday night.

The Golden Eagles now improve to 8-7 on the year, while the Cougars fall to 0-12.

Leading the way for the Golden Eagles was the freshman attack contingent of Will Flohr (six kills), Paul Curaro (five kills), and Kyle Biggers (four kills). Freshman setter Dan O'Keefe collected a game-best 16 assists and fellow junior Michael Barfield led all participants with nine digs.

After dominating the first-set en route to a 25-4 victory, SJC earned a pair of 25-5, 25-4 wins to complete a sweep of Medgar Evers

SJC boasted a .615 attacking percentage and collected 28 kills in total while limiting the Cougars to just one kill. Additionally, the visitors held sizeable advantages in assists (19-3), digs (38-31) and aces (19-3).

The Golden Eagles return to action tomorrow (Mar. 3) at Alvernia University when they face Rutgers-Newark University at 5:00PM and Alvernia University at 7:00pm Live video and stats will be available here.
