Men's Volleyball Takes Down Lehman

Patchogue, NY| The St. Joseph's College men's volleyball team took down Lehman College in a non-conference matchup Thursday night in the Danzi Center.

The 3-0 sweep pushes the Golden Eagles to 7-3 on the season with the Lightning dropping to 4-5.

SJC's Matthew Amberge matched a game-high 10 kills hitting at a .600 clip. Sophomore Kyle Biggers pitched in with six kills with David Slager and Matt Cole adding five kills apiece. Senior setter Tyler Jones dished a match-high 21 assists with Danny McNamara recording 10 digs.

Roberto Ventura Diaz led the Lightning with 10 kills on the night. George Montilla tossed nine assists and Juan Carlos Santos finished with a match-high 12 digs.

The Golden Eagles jumped to an early lead with a 25-15 win in the opening set before grabbing a 25-16 win in set two. SJC trailed early in the third frame when the Lightning got off to a 6-2 start, but the Golden Eagles answered with a 6-1 run to grab an 8-7 edge. Following an exchange of points St. Joseph's rattled off 10 unanswered to go ahead 18-9 en route to a 25-13 victory.

The Golden Eagles return to action Saturday, February 17 when they travel to take on #1 Springfield and #13 Wentworth.
