Biggers and Sivon Earn Skyline Weekly Honors
New York, NY| The Skyline Conference released its weekly awards on Monday afternoon, and amongst the winners were sophomore Kyle Biggers, who earned Player of the Week honors for men's volleyball, and sophomore Adam Sivon who was named Rookie of the Week for men's lacrosse. Additionally, seniors Matthew Burnett (baseball) and Casey Hickey (men's lacrosse) and junior Anthony Papa (baseball) appeared on Weekly Honor Rolls in their respective sports.
Kyle Biggers (So.) - Men's Volleyball Player of the Week
In a 3-0 week for the Golden Eagles, Biggers claimed a .679 hitting percentage averaging 2.8 kills per set. The sophomore led the Golden Eagles with nine kills and assisted on four blocks in a 3-0 sweep of CCNY. The following day, he totaled 11 kills and two blocks in a pair of Skyline victories over Purchase College and Yeshiva University.
Currently, Biggers leads the Skyline Conference with a .379 hitting percentage on the season and sits second averaging 0.58 blocks per set.
Adam Sivon (So.) - Men's Lacrosse Rookie of the Week
In a 2-0 opening week for the Golden Eagles, the rookie goalkeeper posted a .727 save percentage collecting 24 saves in 90 minutes between the pipes. In a 23-3 win over Mitchell College, Sivon turned away all four shots he faced before matching a program-best 20 saves against Salve Regina.
Burnett led Golden Eagles on opening day with a .800 slugging percentage and adding a .600 batting average (3 for 5). The centerfielder produced 2 RBI's and scored a run with a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage on seven chances.
Anthony Papa (Jr.) - Baseball Weekly Honor Roll
In his first appearance with the Golden Eagles, Papa tossed a three-inning save allowing just one hit with four strikeouts. The junior held Ithaca to just a .091 batting average in a scoreless effort.
Casey Hickey (Sr.) - Men's Lacrosse Weekly Honor Roll
In two games last week (SJC 2-0), Hickey tallied eight goals and five assists for 13 points. In a season-opening victory over Mitchell on February 27, the midfielder went for two goals and five assists. Hickey followed that performance up with six goals--including the game-winner--in a 13-9 win at Salve Regina on Sunday.
