Men's Volleyball Held by #3 Stevens

Patchogue, NY| The St. Joseph's College men's volleyball team dropped a non-conference contest 3-0 to #3 Stevens Institute of Technology Saturday afternoon at the Danzi Center.

The Golden Eagles slide to 16-8 on the season with the Ducks improving to 18-4.

Down 2-0 in the match (25-16, 25-21), the third set was played close with neither side building a lead larger than four. A kill from SJC's Matt Cole sparked a 5-0 run to put the Golden Eagles ahead, 17-16. After the two teams traded points, Paul Curaro's kill put SJC on top 20-19, but Stevens claimed six of the final eight points en route to a 25-22 win.

Curaro led the Golden Eagles with 11 kills on the afternoon with five digs. Will Flohr and Kyle Biggers added seven and six kills, respectively, and both finished three block assists and a solo block. Setter Tyler Jones dished 17 assists and libero Daniel McNamara recorded seven digs.

The Ducks were led by Davis Lehman with a match-high 13 kills with Dylan DeBoer pitched in with 12 kills. Setter Jacob Patterson tossed 27 assists and Niko Lambert totaled six digs.

The Golden Eagles return to Skyline Conference play when they travel to Purchase College on Wednesday, March 28. Game time is slated for 7:00 pm.
