Men's Volleyball Picks up a Pair of Wins

Bronxville, NY| The St. Joseph's College men's volleyball team picked up a pair of Skyline Conference wins over St. Joseph's College-Brooklyn and Sarah Lawrence College this afternoon. The Golden Eagles improve to 19-7 on the season and 8-0 in conference play. SJC-BK slides to 2-14 overall (1-5 Skyline) and the Gryphons move to 0-15 (0-4 Skyline).

The Golden Eagles held the Bears to single digits in sets one and two, 25-6 and 25-7, before completing the sweep with a 25-14 win in set three.

Sophomore Will Flohr finished with a match-high six kills while adding five digs. Sophomore Paul Curaro came away with four kills and three service aces. Sophomore Kyle Biggers was 4-for-4 at the net with Jason Siriban pitching in with four kills as well. Senior Michael Barfield tossed 16 assists with Michael Bosco recording a match-high seven digs.

The Bears were led by Tim Driscoll and Sean Salomons with three kills apiece. Alec Willis finished with six assists and Stephan Eddy recorded four digs.

In the second match of the day, the Golden Eagles rolled through Sarah Lawrence for their second sweep, 25-7, 25-8, and 25-2.

Biggers led the Golden Eagles with eight kills. Sophomore Matt Cole added six kills and two service aces. Flohr came away with five kills and a season-best nine aces. Barfield dished 18 assists with six digs.

Harris Silcott led the Gryphons with three kills and three digs. Divij Kapoor recorded two kills with Will Wilson and Ithai Diakov providing one kill apiece.

The Golden Eagles resume Skyline Conference action when they travel to the College of Mount St. Vincent on Thursday, April 5. Game time is set for 7:00 pm.
