Men’s Volleyball to Host Mount St. Vincent in Skyline Final on Saturday

Patchogue, NY| In only the program's second season of existence, the St. Joseph's College (L.I.) men's volleyball team will play for a Skyline Conference title when it hosts the College of Mount St. Vincent in the championship final on Saturday afternoon (12:00 pm).
The Golden Eagles, who entered the playoffs as the No. 1 seed, reach the final after securing a 3-0 victory over Yeshiva University in the semifinal round on Thursday evening. They meet the second-seeded Dolphins, who defeated SUNY Purchase 3-0 in their semifinal.

SJC was victorious in the sides' two match-ups this season having picked up a 3-0 win on the road on April 5 before earning a 3-1 Senior Day win on April 8.
In that April 5 victory, sophomore Kyle Biggers hit 57.1% and put down a game-high 14 kills. Sophomore Will Flohr went for a game-best 18 kills, 11 digs and two service aces in the win on April 8.
With an automatic bid to the 2018 NCAA Division III Men's Volleyball Championship on the line, the Golden Eagles will lean on Biggers, who leads the conference and ranks seventh in the nation in hitting percentage (.448). The 2017 Skyline Conference Rookie of the Year has collected four Skyline Conference Player of the Week honors this season.
Supplementing the SJC attack will be sophomore outside hitters Paul Curaro and Will Flohr, who rank first and second, respectively, in the conference in total kills this season (254 and 221).
Senior setter Tyler Jones and junior libero Danny McNamara enter the contest first in the conference in assists (669) and second in digs-per-set (2.53), respectively.
St. Joseph's led the conference this season in hitting percentage (.254), assists (1065), kills (1,153), blocks (229), digs (1,120) and opponent hitting percentage (.135). Mount St. Vincent finished second in all six categories.
