Biggers Appears on All-ECAC First-Team
Danbury, CT| Sophomore middle blocker Kyle Biggers of the St. Joseph's College (L.I.) men's volleyball team appeared on the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Association's All-ECAC First-Team when the organization released its 2018 end-of-season awards on Thursday afternoon.
Biggers, who was named Skyline Conference Player of the year last week after leading the Golden Eagles to their first-ever conference championship on April 14, led the conference and finished the season fifth in the nation in hitting percentage (.454).
The Holbrook, NY native and four-time Skyline Player of the Week put down a total of 214 kills in 2018 at a 2.12 kills-per-set pace. Additionally, Biggers led the conference in total blocks (62) and blocks-per-set (.61).
Biggers' successes come after a freshman campaign in which he led the nation in hitting percentage (.469) and was named Skyline Conference Rookie of the Year.
After lifting the Skyline Conference championship trophy, Biggers and the Golden Eagles made their first appearance at the NCAA Division II Men's Volleyball Championship where they were defeated 3-1 by #4 Kean University in the tournament's first round.
