Men’s Volleyball Sweeps Brooklyn on Friday

Brooklyn, NY| Fifteen different Golden Eagles saw action in the St. Joseph's College (L.I.) men's volleyball team's 3-0 road sweep of Brooklyn College on Friday evening.

The win moves the Golden Eagles to 8-2 on the year as the Bulldogs drop to 4-6.

Sophomore Jack Solen led a balanced SJC attack with a game-high six kills. The outside hitter also went for six services aces, six digs and three blocks.

Sophomore Michael Bosco was credited with a game-best nine digs, and sophomore Jason Siriban dished out a game-high 12 assists.

Junior Kyle Biggers went for five kills, while juniors Matt Cole, Matthew Amberge and freshman Devin Perez were credited with four apiece.

The guests cruised to 25-10 and 25-13 victories in the first and second sets, respectively, but faced a more resilient Brooklyn side in the third set that would eventually be topped, 25-21.

SJC hit .159 in the contest and put down a total of 34 kills while holding the Bulldogs to a -.113 hitting percentage and just 13 kills.

Solen's six service aces accounted for two-thirds of SJC's total aces output in the contest (9).

The Golden Eagles return to action on Thursday, March 7 when they host Ramapo College for a non-conference contest inside the Danzi Center at 7:30 pm.
