Men's Volleyball Blanks Ramapo, 3-0

Patchogue, NY| The St. Joseph's College (L.I.) men's volleyball team earned a 3-0 sweep over non-conference opponent Ramapo College in the Danzi Center on Thursday evening.

The win moves the Golden Eagles to 9-2 on the season as the Roadrunners drop to 9-10.

Junior Will Flohr led SJC with a game-best 11 kills. Junior Paul Curaro went for eight kills while recording 12 digs and three service aces.

Senior Tyler Jones tossed a game-high 29 assists with five digs and three blocks. Junior Matthew Amberge collected 13 digs and put down seven kills.

The Roadrunners were led by Stephen Codispodo with eight kills and Eric Van Thuyne who provided six.

Setter Josh Titus dished 22 assists and libero Tyler Plitt recorded 12 digs.

The Golden Eagles trailed early in the opening set with the visitors building a 15-12 lead. A Ramapo service error sparked a 4-0 swing putting the hosts ahead, 16-15, midway through the frame. Following a Ramapo timeout, an SJC service error tied the game up at 16, but three unanswered points put the Golden Eagles back on top and they would go on to take the set 25-19.

St. Joseph's maintained momentum and went on to complete the sweep taking sets two and three 25-18 and 25-16, respectively.

SJC returns to the Danzi Center when they host No. 15 Juniata College before taking on Wentworth Institute of Technology on Saturday, March 9. The first match is set for 12:00 pm.
