Men's Volleyball Takes Down Purchase 3-0

Patchogue, NY| The St. Joseph's College men's volleyball team earned its fourth straight Skyline Conference win 3-0 over SUNY Purchase on the Danzi Center on Wednesday night.

The Golden Eagles improve to 16-4 on the season and remain an unbeaten 4-0 in Skyline action. The Panther slip to 7-14 overall and even out at 2-2 in conference play.

St. Joseph's opened the match with its best hitting percentage of the night, .364, for a 25-8 win in set one. The hosts went on to cruise to 25-13 and 25-18 win in sets two and three to complete the 3-0 sweep.

SJC's Matt Amberge recorded a game-high six kills while hitting at a .566 clip. Will Flohr, Kyle Biggers and Paul Curaro knocked down four kills apiece with Curaro providing seven service aces.

Setters Jason Siriban and Michael Lane dished 14 assists each with the latter serving up five aces. Danny McNamera scooped a team-best six digs.

The Panthers were led by a six kill performance by Jeremiah Huntt with Luke Kubishc pitching in with four. Setter Andreo Otinlano tossed 10 assists and Joey Dykeman recorded a game-high 11 digs.

The Golden Eagles travel to NYU on Saturday, March 30 for a non-conference tri-match. SJC will face the Violets at 3:00 pm before taking on No. 13 Arcadia at 5:00 pm.
