Men's Volleyball Sweeps Sarah Lawrence, SJCBK to Finish Regular Season

Brooklyn, NY| The St. Joseph's College-LI men's volleyball team wrapped up regular season play with 3-0 wins over Sarah Lawrence College and St. Joseph's College-BK in the Hill Center on Saturday afternoon.

The Golden Eagles improve to 23-6 on the season and close conference play at a perfect 10-0.

SJCLI 3, SLC 0

The Golden Eagles held Sarah Lawrence to single digits in all three sets with 25-5, 25-7, and 25-5 wins.

Junior Kyle Biggers led the SJCLI attack with nine kills with a .727 hitting percentage. Freshman Sean Williams was a perfect 7-for-7 at the net with four digs. Matt Cole pitched in with six kills and Matthew Amberge, Jack Solen, Devin Perez and Jason Siriban added five kills apiece.

Setter Tyler Jones dished 32 assists and Michael Lane recorded 13 with three service aces.

SJCLI 3, SJCBK 0

In the second match of the day, the Golden Eagles maintained its winning ways taking down the Bears 25-10, 25-15, and 25-17.

This time it was Amberge leading the SJCLI attack with ten kills. Junior Paul Curaro and Williams provided nine kills apiece with Cole finishing with five.

Jones tossed 28 assists in two sets with Lane coming away with 15 in set three.

Libero Danny McNamara collected a team-high five digs with Solen, Siriban, and Will Flohr all recording four.

The Golden Eagles will enter the Skyline Conference Championship Tournament as the top-seed and will host the semifinal round in the Danzi Center on Thursday, April 11.
