Men's Volleyball Eliminated by #8 Endicott in NCAA Tournament

Beverly, MA| The St. Joseph's College men's volleyball team saw its 2019 season come to an end on Friday evening when it fell short to #8 Endicott College 3-1 in the first around of the NCAA Division III Men's Volleyball Championship.

The Golden Eagles wrap up the season at 25-7 as the Gulls, 26-6, advance to face SUNY New Paltz in the quarterfinals

Junior Kyle Biggers knocked down a team-best 12 kills while hitting at a game-high .526 clip. Juniors Will Flohr and Matthew Amberge were credited with eight kills as Paul Curaro and Matt Cole pitched in with six kills apiece.

Senior setter Tyler Jones tossed a game-best 39 assists and senior libero Danny McNamara led all players with 11 digs.

Bryn Lipton led the Gulls with 14 kills with Jeremy Doski adding 11. Doski also dished 24 assists with Chad Riorden recording 17. Libero Ryan Healy collected nine digs.

The home side had a strong start in set one grabbing a quick 6-2 lead. As a team, Endicott hit .522 and had a strong presence at the net with 7.5 total blocks propelling them to a 25-13 win. The Gulls maintained momentum to go ahead 2-0 in the match with a 25-15 win in the second set.

The Golden Eagles held off elimination behind a .400 team hitting percentage led by a six kill effort from Cole for a 25-21 win in set three, however, Endicott bounced back in set four with a 25-19 win to secure the 3-1 victory.
